The Board of Education discussed the recent capital project vote on 3/10 and how we will move forward. The Board decided that we will ask the community to move the 4M high school fund to a new reserve during our regularly scheduled budget vote. Please note, that in order to spend this money, the community will need to vote to approve the expenditures.
This summer, community focus groups will be formed to help guide the Board of Education on how to spend this reserve as well as determine how we should address the academic and security enhancements previously presented to the community in our recent vote.
The Board of Education will likely present a new project for consideration at some point in the fall of 2016. Please email your feedback for the BOE to Mary DePietro, District Clerk (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Through providing an environment conducive to learning, the Greenwood Lake Union Free School District will teach each student the skills needed to acquire and process knowledge while developing and fostering social, emotional, and multi-cultural awareness, empowering each student to continue to set future goals for personal growth and the betterment of society.
